With over 200 shoes taken from the Vivienne Westwood archive, as well as her present designs, and including some shoes from her collaboration with the rubber designer Melissa, the exhibition is more than thorough when it comes to showing Vivienne's design ability and her astonishing journey as a designer.A spokesperson from Selfridges has said about the exhibition:
"The exhibition traces the exceptional success of Westwood's career to date and presents her outstanding artistic individuality. Illustrating her defiance of the rules of wearability and convention, the exhibition is also evidence of her uncompromising quest for superb craftsmanship and attention to detail."
Vivienne has always been proud of her shoes, once saying: "Shoes must have very high heels and platforms to put women's beauty on a pedestal." Here is a look at some of the designs in the exhibition.
